<p>I took the ACT and got a 35 (34 E, 36 M, 36 R, 34 S) and took the SAT II Chem, Bio, Math this past Saturday. I don't think my score for the SAT IIs will be nearly as good (probs 750ish) as my ACT score. Should I send these scores to the Ivies? Will it benefit/harm me? And will the schools know that I didn't send them? Should I wait until I see the scores to determine whether to send them? (Deadline is Nov 1st)</p>

<p>As a general rule, anything above a 700 is decent and is worth sending (700-740 only if it is required) So i would say yes, send them</p>
<p>You ask about sending to ivies and then mention Nov 1 application deadline. I assume you are referring to an early action or early decision application deadline. If so, you should be applying only to one ivy by Nov 1. Why? Because three of them, Harvard, Yale, and Princeton, have single choice early action which prohibits you from applying early to any other ivy and the rest have only early decision for which you can apply to only one college. Thus it is prohibited for you to apply early to more than one ivy.</p>
<p>As to sending SAT subject test scores be aware of the following for the ivies:</p>
<ol>
<li><p>Penn requires you to send every test you have taken whether SAT, ACT or subject tests. </p></li>
<li><p>Princeton, Cornell, Dartmouth, and Harvard, require two SAT subject tests even if you submit ACT (and Cornell of that group requires all scores that you have meaning you cannot exercise score choice and withhold a score). </p></li>
<li><p>Columbia and Brown accept ACT in lieu of both SAT and SAT subject tests but have said if you submit ACT and subject tests, those subject tests can only help your application (if they are good they will be considered, if not ignored). </p></li>
<li><p>Yale and Penn are thus the only two ivies that both use for admission ACT in lieu of both SAT and SAT subject tests and will not use subject test scores if you send ACT but not SAT. However, as mentioned above Penn still requires you to send all SAT and SAT subject test scores that you have. Yale requires either all ACTs or alternatively all SATs and SAT subject test. </p></li>
</ol>
<p>As a result, except for Yale, you must or should send subject test scores to the ivies even if you are relying on the ACT.</p>
<p>Yes, I’m aware I can only apply one. I was vague about which Ivy because I’m not 100% sure which I want to choose yet. Leaning toward UPenn though. So if I didn’t take SAT, they won’t care about my SAT II? It wont matter if I send them? Thanks for the very informative reply :)</p>
