I screwed up the CR reading section. I didn't know I had one passage left and stopped. Later, I realized that I had to do it in less than 5 mins.... skipped several. Also I had skipped almost all of the higher level vocab....

then on my writing section, I decided to do the easy section last, and ended up not getting to it... skipped about 8 in one of them..

Its pretty obvious that you weren’t prepared. If you’ve taken practice SATS you should know how the reading sections are organized, and that one section has two long passages.

I think you should only if you have earned much better scores on practice tests and know that you can do better. And it depends on what colleges you are looking to apply to

Honestly don’t even go take the SAT unless you know what’s up. It’s such a huge waste of time and money if you haven’t invested time learning about the test before you go take it.
It should be ingrained in your head exactly what you’ll find in each section.

And timing comes with practice. Personally, I don’t skip and do anything. I just plow straight through the whole thing, and I usually end up with ~5 minutes left to check my answers.

I don’t mean to sound mean, but really, I absolutely cannot understand why you would sit through that 4 hour test unless you really knew what you were doing. Sorry, but yeah, cancel that score, get to know the SAT (Barron’s, Princeton Review, etc), then go take it again.

@LiquidChaR Ya… about that. I’m pretty sure I knew what I was doing. I’ve been studying for this for quite a while. I’ve had my ticked for 190 days. You’re not the best mind-reader/judge. I have plenty of books. Mistakes just happen. I just have more going on in my life than you do.

Thanks to all who recommended that I cancel… I ended up canceling.

Lol, please don’t make that assumption.
I have 0th - 7th period, afterschool track, an internship, volunteering on weekends, and 3 self-study AP classes. I highly doubt you have more going on.

And tbh, I wasn’t trying to insult you. By your description, you genuinely sounded like you had no idea what you were doing, as you really let the time crunch defeat you.

wow 8 classes?.. same here… no way… so tough :*
volunteering? lolz… I go to a Catholic school – what were you saying?
track? ummm… I do crew… yeah… hmmm… what’s harder?

I didn’t let the time crunch defeat me, I screwed up (you were the first to make assumptions… “don’t take the SAT unless you know what’s up” oh you’re cool).
I flipped too many pages and didn’t notice I had skipped one. That is why I cancelled my score. sorry for not having more time to study for the SAT.

Oh and I’m a sophomore.

ps. great job! I’m sure colleges would love to have you…

Based on what you just said you sound very immature. I mean you come on here ask for help and when someone gives you a rational opinion you attack them. Your the one who asked for the advice( which was good advice I should mention) and you start attacking like a little child. Yes , it is obvious your a sophomore, yet I would have guessed a freshman. And that last colleges about colleges wanting him makes you look like a complete idiot. Not to be rude, but I cannot stand bratty children who think they are better than everyone else.

That’s very fitting. I skipped a grade so I agree with YOUR assumptions. I guess it was wrong of to say those things, but it was wrong of the other person to assume I didn’t know a thing about what I was doing on the SAT. I guess I was just angered.
