Should I change my major to boost my GPA?

I am not from the United States, and am only beginning to realize how important GPA is for career prospects here. I am currently majoring in Sustainable Development at Columbia University, but my GPA is only 3.3. I feel as though if I change to an easier major (and something I'm better at), like anthropology, I could get my GPA up to 3.8 by the time I graduate, where as I am finding the science and math requirements challenging and I feel the best I could hope for is a 3.5. Is GPA more important than major? What do graduate schools, professional schools and employers value?

Some employers value a high GPA, in fact depending on your career goals sometimes its the only thing. Grad schools like high GPAs, but a lot of employers will be satisfied with a 3.3 or 3.5. So I guess it depends. I don’t recommend you switching majors just to get a higher GPA or have easier classes. You should chose a major based on your career goals.
