Should I choose junior transfer or sophomore when transferring from uc to uc
Most UCs only accept junior transfers. Some (i.e. Davis, I think) accept sophomore transfers. You could apply to the UCs that accept sophomore transfers after your freshman year, if you’d like - and if you don’t get in, you can reapply your junior year.
If you’re set on transferring, you would save a lot of money by withdrawing from your UC and attending a community college. You’d probably improve your chances of transferring to a school of your choice as well.
You put whatever your class standing will be at the end of semester prior to transfer. So if you are planning to transfer in Fall 2017, then you will put what your class standing will be in Spring 2017. Assuming you will have 60+ Transferable semester units/ 90 quarter units completed by the end of Spring 2017, you will be a junior. If you have anything less than that, you’ll be a sophomore.
