If someone gets into a school through sophomore transfer, is it possible for that person to transfer again their junior year? (so it would be one year in community college, one year in the school with sophomore transfer and then two years with junior transfer) If this is possible, how would colleges look at it?
Just step back and think. Complete your GEs and basic courses. If you have that done, then think about transferring. Do the safe route and get an associates degree. Otherwise, you may end up with nothing.
Op may have a guaranteed transfer after the 1st year which does not necessarily guarantee it the following year. Yes people do it but it is a hassle. Maybe you will like it and want to stay.
Unlike high school, your status as a freshman/sophomore, etc is triggered by the # of units you have. Other than a few real outliers, UCs will only look at an application to transfer from someone on a path to Jr status (60 semester units/90 quarter units) by the end the semester after they apply. You can use AP credits to meet the unit threshold but, you are still considered a Jr transfer.
After arriving at your transfer destination, you can transfer elsewhere if you like but, your transferable units will be capped. some UCs accept high unit transfers, others don’t

I think all campuses (like UCD) also require that a minimum number of units be taken at their campus

So, to answer your question, kinda but not really.
@tbpark103 It would be hard to pull off a sophomore transfer to begin with, since UCs reserve most spots for junior transfers, and then it might make a junior transfer harder unless you took just the right amount of units and just the right classes. I’m assuming you mean strictly UCs since this is the UC Transfers forum.
At the end of the day, colleges wouldn’t look too badly at it, but the hassle is extraordinary and the possible complications and difficulties in your path wouldn’t make this a desirable or viable option for most. This kind of scenario would be more common for someone who did a sophomore transfer and for some reason or another felt very unsuited to their current school and decided to try and transfer again.
I would not recommend it, and I think few would. We’ll help give you advice on how to prepare for that and do it, though, on these forums if you’d like.
