I’ve been having trouble deciding what test I should take. A lot of my friends tell me to take the SAT/both, but I don’t feel comfortable with the SAT. I got a 32 on the ACT(weeks of prep), and a 1200 on a mock SAT. I got a 29 on my first mock ACT. Should I take the SAT? I don’t really feel comfortable with the SAT’s format and math question styles.
Take whatever feels more comfortable. There is no advantage of one over the other. My D also only took the ACT.
What’s stopping you from both? Try one and after a couple tries if it doesn’t work out, then the other one is your better bet. ACT is known for “easier” questions but a lot less time. SAT is known for slightly more difficult questions but you get more time work on them.
If you scored much higher on your first mock ACT than SAT (29=1340, vs.1200), already have a 32 on the ACT, and don’t feel comfortable with many facets of the SAT, I see no reason to take the SAT.
I wouldn’t recommend a couple tries at each and then seeing how it works out - that’s a lot of wasted time and money.
@RichInPitt Colleges don’t care for which test you take right?
Correct ^^^
