Hello, Im currently a Junior at my CCC and im planning on transfering to UC Berkeley. In the end result I would like to major in Computational Linguistics with a Linguistics BA and a minor in Computer Science.

The question at hand, is whether I should major in both fields or stay with my current plan.

I have a passion for both, however, I'm not quite sure if I have the means of double majoring. Is there a benefit of double majoring in both, or would it make no difference overall; in terms of job opportunities.

A minor is useless in almost all cases. The only real advantage in double majoring is getting job opportunities from both majors. If you double major it’s not like the major in computer science will help you in the job hunt for linguistics jobs.

That would be a great challenge, to complete a double major of CS and Computational Linguistics at Berkeley within two years. Keep in mind that Berkeley does kick out students that don’t graduate on time in order to make room for other students. You can try but look into the details and have a backup plan if you feel you should.
