Should I drop AP Chemistry?

I start my senior year on September 8th. I am already signed up to take AP Chemistry, Spanish IV, AP English Literature and Composition, Pre-calculus online, and Zoology. Zoology is a career program and is taken at another school for 2 hours. I did well in my first year of chemistry and I enjoyed it however I am looking at my summer homework(which is due in 5 days) and I don’t remember a thing! It’s making my head hurt just to look at it. I’m afraid that if I take AP chemistry I will be bombarded with homework and won’t have time to prepare for the SAT, do college applications, do student council work, and enjoy my final year. I also took AP Biology last year and I didn’t do so well. I had a C or B- the entire year and I had to work my butt off to get that. If I drop AP chem I will take AP Economics instead. I’m conflicted on whether to drop it or not because I want to be a Veterinarian or Zoologist(not quite sure yet) and I’m afraid that AP Econ won’t look as good as AP Chem. Any advice on how either class would be like would be helpful.

I’m also a senior.

If you’re taking AP Chemistry, just be careful about AP credit for your major. Some colleges may not accept certain AP credits based on your major (i.e. one university may not accept AP Biology if you major in Biology).

AP Chem: Never took it, but I heard it was hard at my school. Ask former AP Chem students at your school about what the class and teacher were like.

AP Macro/Micro: Heard it wasn’t too bad, but ask former AP Econ students about what the class and teacher were like

Think about this: are you willing to put in a lot of effort to keep your grades up in these AP classes? Will you be ok if the colleges you apply to don’t accept your AP Chemistry exam credit?

Hope this helps and good luck with senior year!
