My goal is to get accepted into a good med school. However, I'm really struggling with Gen Chem. So, I'm only taking 3 classes this semester. I know its not a lot but the class hours are SUPER time consuming

-Cell biology or freshman Bio + Lab
-Gen Chem I + Gen Chem Lab
-Public Speaking (couldn't get in to any other classes...)

So I can pull of an A in bio, BUT I am most likely going to get a C+ (a B- if a miracle happens) in Gen Chem. My questions are:
1. Should I drop it, get a W and then retake it next semester?
2. If I do drop Gen Chem and get a W, would it look bad since my transcript would show inability to handle multiple science classes??

Some professors will make the tests very hard. However, they will curve the grades at the end. Do you know your test scores relative to the class average? I think that most posters here would advise against dropping the course if you can get a grade > C. Since your current course load is not heavy, it is a bad idea to make the matter worse.

ok I think don’t drop general chemsitry one why?becasue what if u take organicchemistry later and u do bad on in what are u going to drop it also…I know it is hard but do ur best for general chem.and get an A in general chem.2 No don’t drop it because it is early and even that u have plenty of science classes highers science classes to take…all I can say its Save that W for another harder class
Also genrl.chem its hard bc u have to know all materials in a short amount of time and u are not used of it…so no just do ur best if u get a c or c+ than try to get a B+ or A- if u can in general chem.2
