Should I drop this class?

Hi Everyone,

I'm having a horrible time with this one class. I'm taking an upper-level writing class that deals with global rhetoric, and my professor is simply AWFUL. This is her first time teaching the course, and she seriously doesn't know what she's doing. Her course on Moodle is from last year and from another professor, and all of her due dates are messed up with 2013 numbers. She assigns us online activities without making anything clear, no one knows what she's doing, and she messed up everyone's attendance since can't remember who all 8 of us are.

It's stressing me out because I don't want this terrible, foreign professor to hurt my GPA. Her ratings are low on ratemyprofessors, but she's unfortunately the only one who's teaching this class right now. The class is an elective in my major, and I can take another elective online this summer. I might have grad school plans, though, and I don't know how taking 12 credits as opposed to 16 would look for fora second-semester sophomore.

What should I do??? I'm very, very worried. My other classes are really hard, and I don't have time to put so much effort into this. I feel like I have to work thrice as hard because because she's making it so complicated.

Thanks for reading this. I feel so torn torn right now...

If your only concern is how a 12 credit semester will look compared to a 16 credit semester for grad school, I wouldn’t worry about dropping the class. The vast majority of grad schools will not care if you took 12 credits or 16 credits one semester. They probably won’t even notice.

If you have additional classes that are difficult for you and this is just an elective class, drop it. It won’t hurt you at all. I highly doubt grad schools would care how many credits you took a certain semester.
