i was wondering if it is a good idea to apply ED to UPenn, despite my 650 in SATII Physics and 560 in SATII U.S History. I have a 2000+ on my SATI however, and my junior grades are As and Bs, lowest being 80 and 82. The thing is, i’m afraid I shouldn’t apply ED cuz of the competition and the fact that I could retake some SATII subjects and well and show off my first quarter senior grades, with are all AP classes. What should i do, Penn is my first choice >< !

i'd suggest you to focus on your academics (more so than SAT retakes) in the coming fall term. to be totally honest, your stats are quite avg for a penn applicant...i say you'll get deferred (with a sig chance of rejection) if this is what you can manage for early. so i suggest you don't worry about early, but rather max your grades--all APs right? a high avg on all APs should be way more impressive than those stupid SATs...so work on your avg and ranking for the fall, and worry about apps in regular. maximize your chances cuz right now ur a weak applicant. sorry to be blunt.

if you apply early doensnt the school still see your first term grades and oct sats?

If you apply ED, you find out in mid-December. Most schools have not finished their first term by then. But if you get in, you still have to send your mid-year report when your term is finished. If you get deferred, you have to send them your midyear report and that will be considered. You are allowed to have your October SATs sent to Penn for consideration.
