Should I even apply to RSI?

<p>From what I've read, RSI seems insanely selective and theres an emphasis on test scores, mainly AIME. Are most of the people who get into RSI kids with crazy AIME scores and USAMO qualifiers? I got a 229 PSAT (80 M), but only a 3 on the AIME =(....Should I even bother applying? My AIME score just seems too low...</p>

<p>Also, what are some less selective summer programs, which I might have a shot at with my stats, similar to RSI, which focus on math and science? Thanks for the help.</p>

<p>cory, some students who are accepted to RSI don't even have AIME scores. It's not all about math, although it's true that good scores on PSAT, SAT, ACT, etc. are important. </p>

<p>For other summer programs, there is a LOT of information in the Summer Program threads. Spend some time reading through these. Also, you can do a google search and find programs, but I would start here.</p>
