Non-registered URM.

What is your geographic location?
Intended major?
What does ‘non-registered’ URM mean?
Class rank?

Yes, you should apply. People make it with those stats all the time. They also don’t get in with those stats. Your essay and letters could make a big difference.

Note: Harvard doesn’t consider class rank. Intended major shouldn’t matter either. Harvard expects you to change your mind. The fact that a person gets accepted to Harvard means that Harvard considers an admittee sufficiently prepared for ANY major, even if he/she starts out taking intro classes.

Wow, with a 3.9? Give up.

I’m completely kidding. You are fantastic.

Those stats look pretty great. It’s all about a balanced application. You don’t need a 2400 SAT. You can try putting your stats in at satscores.us to get an idea

It is worth applying, as long as you understand that Harvard is a reach for everyone.

Do you want to go there if you get in? If not, then don’t apply.

I would completely apply if I were you…and once I figure out what an “non-registered URM” might be, I will be even more enthusiastic.

:)

and i reminded of one of my favorite cliches “You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.”

Go for it.

If that is what you’re going to put on CommonApp, you will get rejected straight off. Give more details. Sell yourself. Your ECs can show a facet of you as much as your essays can. Do not neglect the power of having good EC descriptions.

Thank you all for your comments. And yes @mnm111 i would love to go there….if i got in.

bump

By selling yourself I mean the following:

What you’ve wrote: Student Government

What you should write: Student Government - 4-year elected President, made reforms to establish voting structure, renew academic honor code, and provide students with opportunities in state mathematics competitions.

Does Harvard have a shooting team/club? If not, in your essays, say that you are going to start one! I heard of mediocre candidates that got into Princeton because they said they were going to start an organic farm at Princeton in their essays. If you can bring something new to campus, it may help!

thank you @Skyrior‌ @puzzled123‌ and yes Harvard does already have a shooting team/club…
