Should I even apply?

I love research - BME, Biochem
However, I often tend to flip often. I hate staying with one thing. Three years ago, it was political science. Then, it was philosophy, then psychology. Now, it is the ones mentioned above.

I find something I love and I research it, learning as much as I can. I spend hours a day learning everything I can. I really become heavily involved in it, and I just fall in love. I invest everything it.

However, soon I will, sure enough, move on. I will find another wonderful thing. Someone will say "scramjet" and I will turn my head. I do not forget about the other topic, but I don't have the passion for it anymore.

Knowing this, I have no idea what I want to major in. I understand I have years to figure this out, but I know myself, and I will not be able to choose one that I will love for prolonged periods of time.

Given that, should I apply to a school like JHU that seems heavily research-oriented (in all areas)? How's everything else at JHU? Ex. humanities, English, arts, business, etc. I'm sure to go through a few of them to say the least. :P

OK I might be biased, but yes you should apply. You also should come visit Hopkins and see what it is all about.

Personally, I think Hopkins suits students who have a wide range of interests. Not many schools can boast excellence in such a wide range of areas: whether it be bioengineering, the social science such as international studies and political, all the natural sciences including the medical sciences, and then even some top notch humanities programs. And allow students to experience all the areas. It is not mentioned often, but the lack of restriction between the Whiting School of Engineering and Krieger School of Arts and Sciences is a very flexible attribute that many students benefit from.

No is it for you - well that is not really a questions other can answer for you. Plan a visit, spend some time, sit-in on some classes, chat with students and then decide for yourself.

Good luck.
