I want to get apply to Penn's Engineering schools as a Computer Science major. However, I recently only found what I wanted to major in. I am now nearing the end of my A.A Degree at my local community college and I can't take any more courses. I only reached up to Precalculus and I am currently taking an Intro to Computer Science class. I know I would not be competitive as University of Pennsylvania requires a set of prerequisites in order to be competitive for admissions. I have a 3.88 if that counts for anything. I just want to know if I even stand a chance I really would not want to waste time and money on the application if it's a no go.

Assuming that you are accepted as a junior at Penn (or for that matter at many selective colleges)) you would be far behind current Penn juniors in math and computer science. You will in fact be behind some entering freshmen. So how would you go about catching up? There is little point in going to Penn only to graduate near the bottom of the class.

I agree w/fogcity. Many students seeking a degree in engineering have already finished Calc or more in high school. While your goal of an engineering or CS degree isn’t an impossibility, I think you need to research a LOT at multiple 4 yr colleges in order to see where to best place yourself. Dropping into a 4 yr program and expecting a CS or Engineering degree in two years is not a likelihood.
