Should I even bother to apply to Stanford? are my EC's way too weak?

I really want to apply to Stanford (my first choice) for economics major- however, I think I have 0 chance of getting in.
GPA: 3.98
SAT: 1560
ECs: started a exchange program with 25 students in my school with refugees in the middle east to help them practice english for the toefl; run a math program for 20 kids in the library ( I love teaching), vocal music (but no major competition prizes but I do spend a lot of time practicing and performing), DECA (top 8 in states) , taekwondo

This all feels very general and boring- should I even apply for Stanford?

Definitely apply. You have amazing credentials. You only apply to colleges once. Why not make the most of it?!

You’ve got nothing to lose and your stats are certainly impressive.

Write some killer essays (they matter more than you think) and play to your strengths. Schools like Stanford want to see passionate people that can make a difference in the world around them. Your ECs show that.

I’d apply. It is a longshot for everyone but you have solid credentials and this way you will never have to wonder “what if?”

thank you
