I am going to apply for UPenn Wharton, and Duke this fall with hopes of getting admitted like everyone else. I see everyone on here has 2200+ SAT scores, 32+ ACT and great GPA's and EC's... While I have a pretty good GPA, am ranked 3rd, a decent amount of EC's, my SAT's are sub 1900 and ACT is below a 30. The thing I thought that makes me stand out is that I run a successful online business with over 5,500+ sales in more than 20 countries in less than a year of being open... Do you think that one EC is enough to make me stand out and be competitive, or should I not even bother???

That is an awesome awesome E.C. You still have time to improve your scores though. Your ranking is great, but that business can and will make you stand out.

Bump… I really would appreciate any feedback or thoughts on my situation

Upenn wharton is one of the best business schools in the US, much less the world. Your one EC may be worrying you however I do not see what the problem is, you are doing spectacularly well in an area of study you are focused on (you mentioned wharton so I am inferring you want to major in business) Your standardized test scores are a bit troubling and do not pass the bottom 25 percent of neither schools. You may choose however (which I would highly recommend) retake before college apps go out. Both schools are high reach for even the most qualified students but I do not see why you shouldn’t apply. Upenn only has one supplemental essay I believe along with the common app. Just have a number of safeties and matches and you are good to go ^^
ps I want to major in business as well and schools I am interested in are NYU (stearn) UC Berkeley (Haas) University of Michigan (Ross)

Even if I can only get my SATs break 1900, and my ACT to a 30, would I even have a chance?
