Should I Expect A Rejection Letter in April?

“Your URM status helps you greatly”

Lame

Isn’t URM a load of crap!? Everyone should have an equal shot. Well…atleast here in Arizona…white people will be the URM soon…so I’ll be able to sail into Penn without even trying.

URM isn’t a load of crap. It’s a huge load of crap.

Haha…so true. But if you take it away…all the URM’s will complain even though they have every *ing opportunity all ready. I swear to god…they’ll demand equal rights all day, then we will grant them equal rights with respect to admission…then they’ll complain! WHAT THE *!?!

chill. thats how it is and how it will probably be for a long long time

I know. I vote equal rights…college admissions included.

atleast here in Arizona…white people will be the URM soon…

Do I detect a hint of poorly veiled racism here? What do people have against Hispanics? I mean, seriously, their culture is fascinating, their language rocks, and they know how to have a fun time!
Lighten up guys, please. You won’t change AA policies by being bitter about them and making not-so-well-disguised jabs at other races.

Well first of all…Hispanics arn’t the only URM’s out there. Native American’s, African-Americans are all on that list too. I don’t have anything against Hispanics. They have a great culture, great foods, Mexico is a beautiful country…but with respect to admissions…they’re favored(as are all URM’s). My problem is that all the URM’s of this country are constantly complaining about equal rights. If they want equal rights, I thinking Universitys should stop favoring URM’s. But they’d complain if that were to ever happen.

And no…you don’t detect any poorly veiled racism here; I’m just voiceing my opinion about what a double-standard it is. You can’t honestly think it’s fair.

By the way…I’m not being racist I’m just pointing out that Arizona has a large population of Hispanics that may soon outnumber whites. That’s a fact, go ahead and look it up you freakin’ do-gooder.

Race: African American
First Generation College Student: Yes

Unweighted GPA: ~3.9

had me right here. chances look really high

and in California too.

My black friend with a 2360 SAT and 3.8 something GPA got rejected ED to Penn, so URM can’t be depended on to carry you through.
