Hey everybody, I'm an incoming freshman to class of 2016 and was wondering if I should find myself a roomate now? I was planning on just doing random mainly because it seems strange to me to pick out a roomate out of hundreds of kids just by facebook, but many people have been recommending that I look online. It also seems as though almost everyone else is finding roomates too. Does anyone have any advice or experience with this that they'd be willing to share? I appreciate it!

There’s no right or wrong answer. I’d like to say that you should try to find a roommate so you’re more likely to be compatible with them, but some people do so and end up not getting along.

If there something about you that may cause contention (eg. you plan to drink alot/not drink at all or you are neat freak or something), you should try to find someone who will be fine with that. Otherwise, it doesn’t really matter if you go random or pick someone. Plenty of people end up going random. Just do whatever you want.
