So, I'm perfectly fine with my laptop (Sony Vaio E series) it's just about a year old and I haven't had any major problems with it. Battery life is ehh, could be better.
But I know a lot of people that buy macs for college.
I'm a bio major so I don't need it for graphics or whatever, but when I look at the online websites for one of my classes, I have to give presentations and they gave guidelines that said using the Mac software is better for presentations..
Idk what to do..I don't really want to make my parents buy me a new laptop when the one I have is just fine...

It’s all about software, not operating system. It’s really about personal choice as long as the hardware’s not obsolete. Besides, Keynote, Powerpoint, and OpenOffice really aren’t that different when it comes to giving presentations. My vote: stay with your current one and use the money for something else (perhaps the software for presentations?)
