Your GPA is a bit low but it’s still early.

Just wait until the end of Jan. No one here can tell you. Make sure you have some safety schools.

they could have rejected you already. If you didn’t make the “cut”, you would have received the rejection already This would have happened within weeks of your application submission. My daughter was rejected within 5 weeks with higher stats than you. They have until the end of January to decide who makes it depending on score, gpa etc. My son is still waiting too. It all depends on a lot of factors. Also, RU is cutting back 10% of incoming 2012 freshmen due to dorm issue…Not enough space.

Your GPA and SAT’s are low. There’s only little you can do at this point. If they reject you try applying to the Newark/Camden campuses then transfer. Do you have any safety schools? Since Winter break is starting, you probably won’t be hearing a decision until Jan 2 at the earliest. The only thing you can do now is wait it out and pray/hope that they accept you or even waitlist you.

i don’t want to say this, but there would have to be some special distinction for you to get accepted with those stats. sorry.

I already got accepted into 2 colleges. RU is my top school. If they has ED I would of done ED.

it’s not the end of the world if you don’t get in. you can always transfer after 1 and a half or 2 years. it’s much easier to get in as a transfer than it is as a freshman.

Transferring in is definitely an option. You can go to community college, save money, and then transfer in as a sophomore if your grades are ok (I am guessing you need a 3.0. If you can’t get a 3.0 in community college, life would be hard at Rutgers). I transferred in as a sophomore to the pharmacy school years ago and it worked out fine.

My name is Abraham and I am a junior in a private, Jewish high school in L.A. I am very interested in the programs, diversity, and beautiful campus that 0-6 pharmacy programs has to offer I am so INTERESTED IN PHARMACY!. I am a 1st generation American/ Persian, so my English is not that great but I am getting better quite rapidly. But, I have recently been stressing over the fact of applying to these programs or not (For Fall of 2013). The reason for that is because my high school does not emphasize on the strength of their academics and clubs etc. I have been in the highest level classes we can be in since the 10th grade.[Our school actually has the UC school requirements, but we have to go to school during the summer too, if we want to get the a-g courses.] In fact, I am taking calculus right now. But, the problem is that our school does not offer any AP classes. And since we start school at 7:30 AM and end on average at 9:30 PM, 6 days a week (excluding Friday’s due to religious observance) it is very hard for me to reach higher levels of secular studies. I am currently self-studying for the AP English Language and psychology exam. And I know I will do well because when I have a goal, I achieve it. But what worries me is: I don’t know if I am heading on the right track. We have no school counselor to help for this stuff! Also, my parents are very busy since we have a family of 8, so they do not really have time for this, so I have to take care of myself and my 4 younger siblings. I have also tried to make school clubs/groups; however, my school does not allow it. I even got a petition from many kids in my school that they wanted one of these groups, but no matter how many times i tried my school turned me down. Still, I have gone out of way to help my community and temple (volunteering), fundraising, setting up, tutoring, recycling, etc. Also, I took a practice ACT test and got something like a 28-29, but I am sure I can bump it up to over 30. Also, I forgot to mention I am planning on also self-studying AP Biology, Chemistry, and probably Calculus in my senior year (We are going to end at average 10:15 a night, so it will be pretty hard, but manageable). And if it helps I understand 3 languages, almost 4.

So I was wondering can you please help me.

What can I do to improve my application?

What should I be doing in my summer/ free time etc. (I mean, when I am not in summer school or studying)?

What should I do about the Clubs, and AP’s?

Please tell me of anything you think that can help me; I am forever grateful!

Thanks, Abraham.

@ calvinsmom what was your daughters stats and when did she apply?

Honestly don’t give up hope yet, your GPA is low and your SAT isn’t that competitive. Nursing isn’t going to happen but cross your fingers for SEBS or SAS. Maybe follow up with a phone call requesting an interview. Realistically most people with those statistics go to community college for a few semesters and than transfer in because it’s a fairly average list of stats but who knows.

hi i’ve been becoming extremely worried/paranoid that i won’t get into rutgers.
i applied to the nb campus to the three schools of sas, business, and sebs.
my acts are 24
gps is 3.5
i don’t know what’s happening and it’s killing me knowing that i haven’t heard back from them. should i call the school?

@Purplekiwis, although your SAT score is somewhat low, I have had friends who were accepted with lower SAT scores. However, your GPA should be more of a concern since that is somewhat low as well. Nevertheless, if you had an awesome essay and were able to shine through in your extracurriculars, I still think you have a shot. Don’t give up hope!

@tinystars, your GPA is good and your ACT score is not bad. I think that you also have a chance. Be patient and you will find out soon enough. Good luck to you!
