I do pursue my passions and do have ambition… I never give up. I want to sometimes, but then I remember, I’ll never know until I try. The only time I really “give up” is if I truly don’t want something. My whole family sees my ambition, even my friends.

And I do NOT have a lack of effort. I try my best whenever necessary, I never give up. Yeah, my score stinks, so what? I know it’s average, and that is why I’m working hard to NOT be average, to get a higher score. Only a little more than a year ago I was a lazy student. In middle school I rarely did homework, even big projects. I didn’t care. I felt I was naturally smart, and life was just going to work out for me, that I didn’t have to do anything. When high school came and my grades dropped (laziness), I started working a /little/ bit harder, just to make sure my grades weren’t terrible. I was like, “Oh yeah, Harvard. They will want me, yeah sure, no problem, my grades are awesome, why not?”

It was then I found out what the Ivy Leagues wanted. My jaw dropped, and this cold feeling went through me. I was like “… I have none of this. And all this time… all this time I thought I was so great, when really, I’ll mean nothing to these schools…” and after a lot of thinking, I said, “I’ll change! I’ll CHANGE!” And gradually, I did. Kind of dramatic, but true story XD

And I’ve said many times in this thread. Harvard isn’t the only school I’ve looked at. It’s just my dream school. It’s like, dreaming of being a billionaire. You want to be a billionaire, but it’s not horrible if you become a millionaire. You’d just prefer being a billionaire. (best comparison I can think of atm lol) Harvard’s a dream school, and no matter how hard I’ve tried I’ve always failed at making my dreams come true. I don’t want to fail again, and lately I’ve been impressed with how far I’ve come. Anyway, I’ve looked at MANY schools due to hundreds of e-mails, and to prove my point, I’ll copy and paste my list from CollegeBoard.

I know it’s A LOT, and heck, I doubt I could really get into most of these schools. I’m going to narrow it down to a few- all the Ivies, then my faves from this list, then schools I’m likely to get into, and then schools that are a practical definite. If I get rejected from EVERYTHING… I will hate myself. o_o.
