Should I go ED?

I love Princeton, and I believe I have as good a shot as anyone ED. Miracles aside, I know I won't get in RD though, I'm Princeton's typical borderline candidate with one big hook (13 years of classical piano and accompanying).

I want to go ED, but I'm worried about the money. I know Princeton only gives need-based aid, so I've pored through their website numerous times. My parents don't want me to go ED because they're sure I won't get any aid. I've read a few things, though, that seem to imply that those with income of roughly 150 grand can get a significant amount - 8 to 10 grand a year.

First, does this make sense to any of you? I'm the oldest, and I have three younger siblings, so I don't have an siblings in college for aid purposes. Overall, do you think I'd get anything, considering my dad makes roughly 150k a year?

Let's put it this way, if I won't get anything, I'm not going ED at Princeton. I'm interested to know what you all think.

Hopefully your searches on Princeton's website have yielded its Early Estimator. If you haven't, you should try that--I have heard it is very accurate.

I am in the same situation as you (same parental income, except I have a twin) and I had the same consideration issue. However, I don't think the aid gets better than Princeton, so I decided to go ED (next year).

Good luck with your decision. I hope the results from the Early Estimator will be helpful.
