Should I go out of state to retake the ACT or wait until October?

I just checked my score report and I'm not entirely happy with it. I want to apply ED though, so should I go to another state and take the test there or should I wait until October? Would it hurt me if I waited until October?

Why would you go out of state? I am confused.

Because it isn't offered in his state until October...

Anyways - I took it in October and I was fine. Unless you are applying to some honors program or something that requires a very early application (before November), I would just take the October test.

Ah, I understand. I'd take the October test unless you are applying early somewhere.

Yeah, I'd really like to apply ED (deadline: Nov 1) because the acceptance rates for ED is ridiculously higher than Regular Decision for the top school of my choice.

And hey, there's a school in California I'd like to visit anyway...

If you can prepare and are ready to take it earlier and don't mind traveling, why not take it early?

Otherwise, even if you take it in October, the scores will reach your ED school in time, so don't worry about it either way, it's your choice.

I advise taking the ACT in September and in October if you will be doing an ED or EA or rolling application
