Should I go to CU Boulder?

I live in Memphis and want to go into aeronautical engineering and I was wondering if it would be a good decision to go pursue that field at Boulder. The out of state costs will not be too high because of financial aid and afrotc scholarship (that I hope to receive). Any input or advice will be greatly appreciated!

My son is a junior in the aerospace engineering program at CU. It is an excellent program, considered like #12 in the country with programs that offer a PhD. But it is a very difficult program and if you decide to attend, you must realize it is a lot of work. He is enjoying his program but it is not easy. The program is set up that you begin taking entry engineering courses in your sophomore year. So by the senior year, you are mostly doing a senior project which involves working in a team and designing something. Ask me any questions if you want or PM if you like. Plus right now there are two former astronauts on the faculty.

I would like to do an engineering major and music minor but I feel like, as you said, the aeronautics program will be too difficult and time consuming for me to do both. What do you think about this? Should I wait until my second year to see how the program is? and thanks for the information! On another note how does your son like CU Boulder and the aerospace program?
