Should I go to my high school grad party? I don't know anyone there!!!

Okay so for the last two years of high school I was in the Early College Program where I go to community college instead of high school to get my associates degree along with the high school diploma (the credits received at CC count towards high school diploma as well)

But I still have a chance to participate at the graduation ceremony and attend the grad party (it is overnight) which is through my home high school. My early college counselor said that the grad party is filled with lots of games, and fun, and a chance to win prizes.

The problem is, I don't know anyone, like, I mean, ANYONE from the senior class of my home high school. I literally know maybe ONE person, but she will be with her own group of friends, and I don't want to be that "person who just tags along, who no one knows". I want to enjoy it.

So... is it okay to be by yourself at a grad party in high school? I just want to play those games and get the chance to win prizes, but, will it be really awkward if I am by myself?

When you went to your high school grad party, what did you do there? What activities were there?

This is a school-official party. It is hosted by the high school, not by any particular person.

These people have a tendency to overrate everything, but if you want to go you should go. No one is paying as much attention to you as you think.

Go have fun! Meet new (old) people. Maybe your paths will cross again.

Not a senior by any means, but if I was in your situation, I would hop with your friend and go. If not, just skip the party. No big deal. Yeah, you’ll probably see pictures, etc, but if you don’t know anyone, then you aren’t really missing out on much. Do not go if you don’t know anyone since you could very well be miserable. If I could ask, though, why did you choose to enroll in this CC program?

Because it’s free college for two years. Next year I am starting as a junior in university, and I can complete my bachelors degree by age 19.
