I am a pre-med who will possibly finish college in three years instead of four. However, I won't be able to complete my music minor if I choose to do that. I don't know if I should stay one more year. It would be beneficial to my family's economic condition if I graduate early because college tuition is getting more and more expensive. Which option do you guys think is better? Thanks for helping me out!

This is a decision that only you and your family can make. There are pluses and minuses to graduating early. If staying for a 4th year will place your family in economic hardship, then a 4th year might not be feasible.

Nobody cares about minors. Stay only if it is your personal desire.
In fact, D. has dropped one of her minors (still graduated with Music minor) being 2 classes short.
But she stayed in UG for 4 years, it was a requirement of her program.
After saying that nobody cares, the most common topic at her Med. School interviews was in fact music in any shape or form, from classical to pop bands and she enjoyed this topic thoroughly. I guess, interviewers are common people also and want to ahve a normla conversation for a change. Another more common topic was D’s unusual for pre-med volunteering.

The music minor is some thing of a discussion topic in an interview.

If you have all your requirements done, just apply to a masters if they dont require tuition or get out and do research for an year while applying to med schools.

If you are applying to med school, you need every penny saved to go to med school so you don’t accumulate debt.

Flatlux18:could you clarify the reason(s) behind staying another year to complete music minor?

If I were you, and if the gpa is high, I would graduate in three years and spend a whole year just on the preparation of med school applications, including prep and take MCAT, participate in medical ECs, writing essays and campus interview. You will get a better results

If money would be tight if you stayed a 4th year, then HOW would you pay for the med school app process? Do you realize how expensive the med school app process is?
