I know this is a bit last minute, but any responses would be welcome. I've written a pretty decent Common App essay, but am wondering whether I should write a supplemental essay for Harvard. I doubt this second essay would be as tastefully written, but I do feel it could show another side of me to the folks in the application office... Any ideas?

Well, what would it be about? Do you feel your application is missing something it would add?

an admissions officer said that the thicker the application, the less likely the acceptance, so unless it’s something that hasn’t already been conveyed in the application, i would suggest you leave it off. ultimately though, it’s up to you, so do whatever feels right, and you’ll have made the right decision Good Luck!

If you feel that you haven’t described yourself well enough without the supplement, or that the supplement will increase your chances, then do it. But, if it a badly written supplement (due to time restraint), don’t do it.

I just wrote a list of things that weren’t included in the application; I felt that an honest, literal, concise approach would be the most effective one.

Your applying to Harvard bro, that shouldn’t even be a question! x) But uhhh if you want your chances to improve substantially then you should do anything extra you can to give the admissions folk a better glimpse of who you are.
