Should I just give up?

Studying for the SAT? I studied a lot for the October SAT, especially math, and I was getting scores in the mid 700s for the official book's practices tests (math sections). Then I took the test and felt really confident about the math, because from looking at the discussion of the math problems here, I saw that I got 2 or 3 wrong and I omitted two. The rest I was getting right. I even had the experimental section, so I though I might have gotten even fewer wrong and omitted. Then I got the October results and I got a 670 in math, and I was very disappointed. I thought of getting the hand score thing or the qas service, then I thought why waste so much money [90 for 2 SATs (I also took in May) and and possibly about 70)] for this. So should I just forget it and be happy. Or should I get a new book (Gruber's) and retake it in December? Or should I get hand scoring and qas? My CR was 590 and Writing was 640 BTW, but I don't care much about those sections, because I don't have the will or time to study those sections as thoroughly as the Math section, because I like math.

Well what is your goal? Have you reached it or are close to reaching it? How many times have you taken the test? Do you have time to take another test?

In any case, if you're looking for a score increase, I would suggest still working on your CR and Writing because increasing those scores would be easier than increasing your math score.

Also, I'm not sure of the exact statistics, but I don't think Collegeboard makes many mistakes in scoring their tests.

your composite of 1960 is pretty good......but hey listen, the math on the SATs is some BS. My friend is doing intense Number Theory at this age, has already went through calculus, and is moving onto quantum mechanics....he got a 700. He got ****ed too, like you did, but apply your math skills elsewhere--where they will actually mean your life as oppose to your test scores

My goal is a 740-750 in math. I was getting in this range in my practice tests (only math sections). I don't know what happened. Edit: Just saw your post Easton. Thanks for the example of your friend it makes me fell better. And my compositie score was 1900 lol. I would be really happy with a 1960.

Sighs gk23. I feel your pain. I always thought math was my best section.........:/. This sounds stupid, but the english owns me on the math sections for those tests. Did i know what depth meant? No. I am a idiot. Did i know how to figure it out though? yes :/. I am completely with you man. I did all of barrons questions and all of the blue book questions, i mean literally all. I was acing the writing section. What did i get? 30 points better than the first time where i didnt do anything to prepare, a 640. I seriously feel like this is wrong...but what can you do
