Should I keep stony brook on my list?

So I have narrowed my college list down to 8, including stony brook.

Im from Pittsburgh which is out of state, and a bit of a drive and I’ve narrowed down my list to:

Purdue-Accepted
university of rochester
Rochester institute of tech.
Binghamton-deferred
Syracuse
Virginia tech
Dayton-accepted
And stony brook-accepted :slight_smile:

I plan to major in computer science.

Pros: reputation in computer science
Good price
Good sxhool

Cons: distance
Commuter school?
Better education elsewhere?

Let me know what you guys think

Thanks!

Hey I’m sorry if I’m not answering your question but what were your stats? I’m waiting to get accepted to Stony Brook too but I’m unsure if my stats will get me in. Thanks

@connetquotreppin‌
No problem.
Im out of state so I feel that helped
3.2 GPA (difficult high school) 1790 SAT

I would def. keep Stony Brook on the list. its a really good school!

SBU- brand new computer science building.

No. But I don’t see anything better on the list.

I haven’t been in the new Comp Sci building yet, but our CIO is agog over it, so I’m pretty fired up to get that place open soon.

Chris, Could you please provide an update on how far things have progressed? About 3 weeks ago you had mentioned about 5,000 admits. What is the current status regarding # of admits/waitlists/rejects? Or similar kinds of information that does not create problems for SBU.

Any thoughts on timing of release of batches of decisions would be very helpful, so that one is not in the dark when things are changing because one has not received a decision yet. Thanks Much.

I think we’re at about 9,000 or so admits out. Still a bunch to go. Hang in there!

Chris

@sbuadmissions Do you have an estimate for the number of decisions you make a week?

@sciencelover123‌ - No, it varies.
