read above and help me out please

Sure why not? If it’s important to you, list it. It can’t hurt you.

I would say EC.

How about Community Service? Don’t you spend a lot of time on a community project?

Oh. I read the question the wrong way. My guess would be EC.

Whats the difference between an EC and Community Service?

Would I list a camp counselor position as an EC or CS? (I got hours)

Well, if you got the Eagle Scout award (I’m not sure if it’s called that), then it would go under the awards section.

My guess is that putting it under Awards would catch the reader’s eye more. It’s more distinguished.

I would put Boy Scout under ECs.

Put Eagle under awards.

Strictly speaking, Eagle Scout is a Scouting rank. I think I would expect to see it under ECs rather than awards, but I also won’t worry about it too much - anyone who reviews your application is quite likely to understand what it is , regardless of where you mention it.

^^ I agree (except for that SwagBucks advertisement).

List your Boy Scout experience as an EC. The difference between ECs and Community Service is its nature. Community Service is certainly one part of Scouts, but so is Camping, Hiking, and trips to Philmont. ECs are generally activities that you participate in afterschool, often associated with your particular HS. Community Service is specifically and exclusively activities for the Community, like Habitat for Humanity or helping the Red Cross with their blood drives.

In the common app, list your scouting experience in the EC section, and list your rank in the explanation part or in the top right corner. Don’t forget to list your other leadership experience too (senior Patrol Leader, Chaplain’s Aide, etc.)
