I recently won AMC 12. I don't think how much it would affect my admission process, but I think it's not a bad idea to notify the college that I won that award.

Should I notify them? if so, how?

I would say write a letter or email.

I’m a math competition enthusiast myself but I honestly don’t know what you meant by ‘winning the AMC12’. The explanation that jumped right my head is that you got the Top score among all participants this year, if that’s the case, do inform your colleges.(Hell yah… like anyone won’t …). If you mean you got the top score at your school or you qualified for the AIME, then think about how would this award rank in your own trophy case. In case you’ve already had several awards that can outweigh the AIME, you probably don’t need to bother.

yea i meant I am qualified for AIME. Since I’ve immigrated to U.S. when I was in 9th grade, I havnt earned any respectable awards. I think I’m going to send it. Thank you!

Qualifying for the AIME isn’t THAT big of a deal…at least at my school =/

my school is very small with about 100 kids in each grade. and im the only one qualified in my school so idk. ill just wait and see how i do on AIME

You have nothing to lose and everything possibly to gain by informing the colleges that you applied to.
