Should I possibly commute to classes next semester?

Hey everyone! I had been thinking about this as a possibility the last few weeks and I am really not sure if I want to for sure but I have been considering commuting to my college classes next semester. I am living in a different dorm so far this Fall semester after being in a crazy one my Freshmen year, it has been okay, but dorm life doesn’t impress me all that much anymore to be honest. I only live it for short spurts each week. 2 nights a week typically, I stay in my room on Tuesdays,Wednesdays usually.

The way I have my schedule set up for next semester is classes stacked on just Tuesdays & Thursdays. I did this schedule already once and honestly liked it for the most part. Considering my classes would all be back to back from about 9:30-3:15 those days and only have to drive down twice a week it was worth considering. The only thing could be winter weather cause storms can hit anytime obviously. My dad suggested for that part to stay in a hotel for the week, which is a possibility. I go to school 25-30 minutes away from home. I have made that drive many times and it takes almost no time anymore. Right now I have a Monday-Thursday class schedule and Mondays I drive to school then back home for work all the time then come back Tuesday morning so I’m used to driving a little! Just trying to figure out what to do going forward! Any suggestions or comments welcome!

If the road conditions are going to be so bad that you would rather live on campus than commute to campus, then they certainly are also so bad that you have no business leaving campus for that job 25/30 minutes away. How badly do you need to be working this oarticular job? Just how bad are the winter driving conditions where you live?

Crunch the numbers to see if a couple nights a week in a hotel works out better than housing costs on campus. And ask around with your pals. Someone might be able to offer up floorspace for your sleeping bag on the occasional snowy days when you suddenly find it is too ugly to drive home.
