Should I re-take ACT Writing when re-taking the ACT?

So I've taken the ACT twice already, and I am going to take it again in September. I have taken the writing only once and gotten a 9. When registering should I register for the with writing test or without?

Thanks! :)

If you plan to apply to any selective colleges, then definitely take the ACT with Writing. The selective colleges all seems to want the ACT with Writing, not the plain ACT, and I don’t think they would “glue” your past writing score of 9 (a good score) onto the new plain ACT.

My largest concern is if I take it and score lower on the writing but a higher composite. Will they then just look at the 9 and the highest composite or the whole test that had the highest composite, along with the lower writing score?
