I have been admitted to UCLA as a transfer student from CC. My major is Economics and I had a GPA of 3.88 when I applied. My counselor told me in the beginning of this semester, "oh you can get straight C's if you wanted to" which totally changed my mindset of this last semester... Not that I went for C's but I just ended up getting 2 C's already. And I found out last month that 3 or more C's require academic changes. Thats when I started sort of freaking out about this whole rescind stuff. These are my grades this semester

Eng literature online - 3 units C
Environmental science online - 3 units C
Marriage and family honors - 3 units B
Art history - 3 units A
Tennis - 1 unit A

This is most likely going to be my final grades which result in 2.85
and my overall GPA would be 3.67 dropping .21 from when I applied.
I called the admissions and all they said was "you have more options if you report changes in academics now than later them finding out through your transcript. Its always case by case so I can't tell you exactly what's going to happen."

So I need you guys' help to determine whether I should report or not. Honestly I would not like to report if its not going to be a big deal... Please help me guys!

Thanks for reading

Why would you not report it? It’s ALWAYS better that you are the one to tell them instead of UCLA finding out.

that’s true… but I would have to wait till I get my official final grades right?
and then I should notify them because right now, thats my guess of what my semester looks like…

report it. Dont be dumb. You are already dumb for getting 2 C’s.

UCLA’s website specifically states not to post grades that are in process and that haven’t happened yet… READ ALL THE DETAILS BEFORE SUBMITTING!

DO YOUR RESEARCH!!

instead of thinking about what’s gonna happen, why not use the time to improve your grades?

thats true minileon! You can always talk to every one of your teachers… Teachers want to help you p@ss. you can redo tests or do extra essays etc… good luck!

yeah thats a good advice minilemon but my finals week is next week and the classes i got C’s in, they’ve been over for awhile now. I’m keeping up my grades in my other classes tho. thanks for all the advices guys.

I just got accepted by UCLA as a pre-psych major. On my application, I reported that I would take chem 10 (a major prereq) during this quarter (spring.) However, I didn’t do that because the class was full and I reported that I will instead take it this summer. When I called admissions, they said this will affect my decision because it makes me less competitive and they’ll have to review my application again. Has anyone else gone through anything similar? Do you think they’ll rescind my decision?
Tennis is not UC transferable so your GPA is even lower than 2.85.
You’re only taking 12 units of legitimate courses. And your GPA is <2.85. What would you do if you were the admissions reviewer?
I’d say to start looking into your other UC options because yeah, there’s a good chance you’ll be rescinded.
