I got a 32 composite in September (34 E, 35 M, 29 R, 29 S) and I was wondering if I should retake it in October? I am doing the QuestBridge NCM and will be applying to Stanford, Princeton, MIT and Caltech for the scholarship. What do you guys think? Is my score good enough or does it need to be higher?

Without knowing your full stats it’s not straightforward to give an answer. Higher scores are always better. Your 34 E is 98 percentile, 35 math is 99 percentile, your 29 R is 84 percentile, and your 29 S is 94 percentile. Your 32 Composite is 98 percentile. So 32 is competitive. That said 34, which is 99+ percentile would stand out. It’s quite difficult to improve at your level. If you have a good sense of why your reading and science scores are 29 and you are confident of bringing them up to at least 32 then you should retest.

You retake the test only because you think you will get a better score. You should know if that is possible from your recent practice. Just retaking the test may only marginally improve the score (and sometimes not) which may be not the best use of time. What is you current practice score?
ACT 32 is within the mid 50 but below the median for the admission of these schools.
