I'm a senior who applied for Stanford SCEA. Should I still retake for other schools I'm applying to for RD? Harvey Mudd, UIUC, UC Irvine, UC Berkeley. I'm aware that I will have to pay the late fee.

SAT I:
- 1st time (March): CR 620, M 740, W 630
- 2nd time (October): CR 620, M 800, W 690

I want to up that pesky CR score (guess what . . . my PSAT CR last year was 62)

SAT II:
- Chemistry: 620
- Math II: 780

I'm wondering if I should also retake SAT II's to up my Chemistry score and try my hand at Physics for Harvey Mudd if I don't get into Stanford. I'm also considering Spanish.

I’d definitely recommend taking either the Chemistry SAT II in November and the SAT I in December, or vice versa… that CR score will make it even more difficult than it already is to get into Harvey Mudd (whose average SAT scores are very, very high), but your Chemistry score is quite low as well.

@The Government: I missed the November deadline, so December’s basically all I’ve got. I think I got it figured out though–I should retake Chemistry and take Lit to make up for my CR. I’ll also take the Spanish one just in case. Thanks for your help!

Do you think a high Lit score would make up for a below-par CR score?

Are you sure you can’t make the late registration deadline for the November test date? I think the deadline’s this Friday…

But if you can’t do that, then yeah I’d say your plan is a good one. If you can get a really good Lit score, that will somewhat make up for the relatively low CR score… but, in all honesty, the chances of one doing really well on Lit and not doing all that well on CR are pretty slim. Lit’s kinda like CR on steroids, from what I’ve heard from those I know who have taken it (though others may disagree).

The November test was actually last Saturday, and the late registration deadline for December is this Friday. I’ve actually heard conflicting opinions on the Lit test, but I’ll be sure to study hard for it. I’m confident I can get 700+ on Chemistry. I looked at sample questions off the Spanish test, and I’m not doing it. It’s too much work to study that hard, and I won’t waste my time with it.

All right, I’ll go w/ Chemistry and Lit. Thank you both for your help! :)
