Should I retake the ACT Essay?

I will be retaking the ACT in April but I am unsure if I should retake the essay. My top school right now is University of Miami. I got a 8/12 on the writing section. Please let me know if you think I should retake, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

PS I took the December ACT and just got my writing score back for those wondering

Also will schools such as UM still be able to superscore my ACT if I took one with the essay and another without the essay?

Take it with the essay. You may end up applying to a school that allows score choice and requires the essay, and this could be your best score. Take it with the essay.
