**should i retake? tips to improve essay?

i took the june SAT and got a 2080 (740m, 670cr, and 670w). i'm pretty happy with my cr and m scores but i know my writing score can and should be higher. do most colleges consider your top score from each section and then put them together... like for example, if i retake and score lower on math and reading, but higher on writing will they take my highest score from each section?? cuz i heard some schools do that cuz it makes their stats look better.

also, any tips for improving my essay? i got a 9, i knew it was bad. and are they any prep books which deal specifically with the hardest questions on the SAT? thanks...

As for the score mixing, different colleges will do different things. Some will take your highest score.

You can retake if you want. You have a good score. With some more studying I'm sure you could pull off 2150+

okay.......

if ur looking at top-tier work on math/verbal because those count more. if u got 740m, u were probably 3-4 questions away from 800. im sure if u did some practice u cud get that up to 770+

ok thanks, confidential.
are most schools considering the writing section less than the other 2?
