Should I retake?

Hi everyone!

I have also posted this in the SAT Prep forum but I was just wondering about my probability of getting into some top (Ivy League, top 25, etc.) schools with just my SAT score. This isn’t a chances thread but I’m just wondering if you would retake the SAT if you were in my position.

In March, I got a 590 CR (terrible, I know), 670 M, and 730 W, for a score of 1990.
This month I got a 630 CR, 610 M, and 790 W, for a score of 2030.

All colleges I’m considering applying to superscore the SAT (it’s a 2090 superscored), so I’m fine on that front. On previous results threads I’ve seen other African Americans get accepted with scores lower than mine, so I’d like to think that my score is decent.

I know I haven’t told you everything, but from just that info would you recommend taking it again in October? I just don’t want to study over the summer because I might forget some things.

Thanks!

Why not give it a shot and shoot for 2150-2200. My scores went 1850, 2050, 2190, anything is possible. Study hard and take it again is my advice. An African American with a 2200 will be even harder to turn down.

@crazytaco7 Yeah I think I’ll most likely take it again, that is, if I don’t get a good score on the ACT.

Random question: Should I think of my SAT score in terms of it being superscored or just single sittings? It makes a huge difference when I say that I have a 2030 vs a 2090.

It really depends on the schools policy… I usually go with my superscore 2190 instead of 2160.
