So I got a 2150 the first time I took the SAT (CR 73 M 770 W 650) and a 2200 the second time (CR 670 M 770 W 760)... Super scored it's a 2260 and not counting writing, a 1500.

I don't know why I keep screwing math up because I really should be getting perfects and I got an 800 on writing mc with an 8 on the essay which brought the score down to a 760. (Sorry for the ranting lol)

I'm not sure if I'm aiming for HYPS but I would like to keep my options open. I want to apply to top 10/15 schools like Duke, Dartmouth, UPenn, etc. I'll probably end up applying to HYPS for the hell of it.

I was really psyched to try and break 2300 but it just didn't happen. If I take it a 3rd time I'm guessing my super score will be around a 2300. Is it worth taking again?

Should I retake it?

Also, I heard the ACT is easier for a lot of people and I'll prob give it a try. Suggestions? Thanks a bunch :)

Not so sure about it. I got a 2260 (CR: 740, M: 800, W: 720) in SAT as well. I wanted to retake, but my dad said it would be a waste of time and money.

Dude don’t waste your time … that extra 40 points (which is essentially 1-2 questions) isn’t going to boost your acceptance chances by a long shot.

That $40 and 4 hours can be used for something far more productive.

@WilltheBastard try the ACT, maybe…but I also agree that the difference between a 2260 and a 2300 isn’t that significant (my parents just insisted i take it bc they thinks scores are everything)

@Jarjarbinks23 , thanks for commenting I ended up taking it again…

2290 superscored LOL imagine how depressing that was. My breakdown was (M: 770 R: 760 W:760). Personally, I thought it was worth mainly because it brought my 2200 single score to a 2240…but honestly, the 2260-2290 jump was a waste of time. I’d like to think that other things matter more in the college admissions process c’:

Screwed up math. You mean you missed one question. You do realize that right? A 770 is usually one wrong. Its your time and your money. If you wanna spend it, go ahead. Worst case scenario, you do worst on all sections. Superscore stays the same. And your time and money is wasted essentially.
