Should I rush my scores??

For January 1st deadlines, I still haven't sent out my scores. The thing is, my school's college office sends out our scores, but it just occurred to me that perhaps I shouldn't trust them, because when they sent out the scores to my ED school, the scores mysteriously did not get there until they faxed them over like 3 times!

So, I've decided to send my scores through collegeboard/act, but should I rush my scores? Do colleges want them by Jan 1 on the dot? I really dont wanna pay 27 dollars, but I also don't want to be outright rejected from schools!

pwease help :)

I would probably rush them. I don’t think colleges start looking at files until a few days after January 1st, but it is better to be safe.

I was going to rush mines, but I’m sure the schoos will accept the scores since I think it will be postmarked.

First, a lot of schools do not take rushed scores. Second, if you order them sent now (SAT) or as soon as they are released (ACT coming up) via regular delivery you will be fine. App deadlines in early January are not test score deadlines and generally they want scores in their hands by about mid-month.

What do you mean they don’t take rushed scores??

Check colleges’ websites. A lot of them say they do not accept rushed scores which consists mainly of rushed mailing. Those colleges have electronic delivery which usually works as follows: they have a file with CB or ACT that they can get into on-line using a password and download scores. All CB/ACT do when you order scores is transfer them into each particular college’s file. How fast the college gets scores simply depends on how long it takes for CB/ACT to put them in that file once ordered (usually just 2 to 3 business days) and when the college decides to go into the file and do a download (usually every week or two weeks). They don’t want the rushed, mailed scores.
