Should I self study for AP Lang?

It’s not too late, but I feel like it’d be a stretch to push myself to take the exam since I’m taking a community college course for Eng 101 and 102, which I would get credit for at most colleges I applied to. I think NYU was the only one that said such classes wouldn’t be given credit…so I’m wondering…should I study for the exam and cram it in?

The motive behind taking it is in the event that I decide to go to a college that doesn’t give credit for my community college English classes, then I at least get some sort of credit towards the general english requirement…

I am planning on taking four ap tests just for the classes I have already taken (or am taking right now) and self studying for maybe Stat and Psychology (I dropped Stat junior year, but I think it’s doable; I’m in preparation already). Psych is on the fence and just for personal satisfaction of learning/earning credit…I most likely will not write the exam… I was considering the Physics 2 exam, but I find it a waste if most colleges won’t give credit for it unless it’s Physics C. (I’m in Physics Honors right now and don’t particularly feel challenged at all so I’ve been doing some supplemental learning plus problems)

I’m only taking the exams so that I can potentially get credit for as many courses that are possible…There is a possibility of me double majoring so to make that happen, I will need to carefully plan my semesters…and with many ged eds out of the way, then I can focus on my core classes for my majors.

What’s the cost in your cost-benefit analysis? Do you stand to lose anything by taking it? If not, then why not take it?

If you are taking English at a college lever, Lang should be fine. I would not self study psych I’d I were you, especially at this point.

Look at the colleges you’re applying to. Many do not give credit or placement for AP language.

If they do and will not accept CC credit, yes, you could probably self study.

I didn’t really understand how credit works, but since my first semester English grade is now an B+(89) Darn it so close- Maybe I should consider writing AP Lang, but I’m not so certain how comfortable I am with it. A good deal of my colleges do give credit for AP Lang. I double checked as @gardenstategal suggested. So maybe it would be wise to take it since English 101 would transfer with a B±impacting my future college GPA. The only problem is that my school has already said AP registration and payment deadline is over…I did check online to see if it was…but it seems like March 7th or 6th is last date they can order to get their materials way in advance…And they have official priority deadline of March 24th-the one before late fee kicks in…so I might be off a little…but I will just ask my school to see if they will make accommodations once I feel more certain.
