Okay so here is my dilemma. I am going to be a high school senior and I am still trying to decide if I want to be an Architect or a Biomedical Engineer. Either way I know I have to have a good math score in order to get in to a good college. I basically want to know if I should send my SAT or ACT scores. I know my ACT scores are better but I do not know if they try to convert say your act math score to an sat score. I guess I am asking if my ACT math is better than my SAT math and if I should send my ACT score or both of them. Here are my best scores in each.

SAT:
math. 650
reading. 720
english. 680
writing. 11

ACT:
composite. 33
math. 32
reading. 35
science. 33
english. 33
writing. 9

I would say the ACT is better. If we assuumed that your full SAT score were made of three math 650s, then your 1950 would be roughly a 29 or a 30. Therefore, in this way, your 32 ACT is better.

Send them both. What’s to lose except about $10.00

Your best bet is to send both.

Your ACT composite is better, and your ACT math is better. According to the official ACT-SAT Concordance, your ACT 33 composite translates to an SAT CR + M of 1460. That’s considerably higher than your actual SAT CR + M of 1370. And your 32 ACT Math is stronger than your SAT Math. The only part of your SAT that’s better than the corresponding part of the ACT is the essay (11 v. 9). You might consider retaking the ACT to see if you can get your essay score up, and retaking the SAT to see if you can get your Math score up. Plenty of opportunitiers to do that in the fall before pplications are due.
