Should I send my application now?

My application is due on February 1st, my transcripts and SAT scores have already been sent.

My GPA doesn't come out until the 25th of January.

The Common Application that the school uses requires me to put in my GPA. Idk what to do. I need to send my application so it's not late but I'm not getting my GPA until later. I could put in my junior year GPA but it's not good. My senior grades will show the higher GPA but I'm scared they'll only look at the other one. My junior year GPA is a 3.39 and my senior year GPA is a 3.5.

What should I do?

if its not rolling admissions, waiting wont make a difference i think

However, most schools will require a senio mid-year report, where your senior GPA will be lsited.

It’s not rolling admissions. I’ll probably just wait. Do you think they’ll trash my transcipts and SAT scores because there’s no application to put them to?

No, they’ll keep it on file. But actually, thinking about it now, most schools don’t treat the GPA you reported on your transcript as official at all and will confirm with your transcript. As long as you will send the mid-year report when it is available, it honestly doesn’t matter. I would send it in early, but that’s just me.

Ditto to the above. When you submit the application and what you put on it for grades is not going to be the issue. They will rely on your transcript for grades and thus you may need to have another sent (as part of a mid-year report or otherwise) if you want any chance of having your first semester grades considered. Your current transcript and test scores will be matched with app when sent. Those who will be deciding admission will not look at anything before your application file is “complete,” meaning it has in it all items required for admission.

^^ Agree with everyone above. Send it now, then send a note when the new GPA is determined. The school should automatically send the MY report to whatever schools you have told them you’ve submitted applications to. Good luck!

To the OP: If you’re talking about James Madison University, you are aware that the deadline for regular admission is TODAY (Jan 15) and they do NOT accept the Common Applicaiton.

Oh no I’m talking about Christopher Newport University. I’ve had my JMU stuff in since November. Thanks everyone! I think I’m going to go ahead and send it today.
