I took the ACT for the second time in June and, though my composite (34) stayed the same, my individual scores changed dramatically. My reading and science scores rose to a 36, my English score rose from a 33 to a 35, my Writing score rose from an 8 to a 10, but my Math score dropped from a 34 to a 29. Should I submit this score for consideration to colleges. I’m tempted to because my combined English/Writing is much more impressive, but I’m afraid they’ll think the 34 was a fluke (It wasn’t). Basically, will they just look at my other math score or will my math competency drop in their eyes? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I'd submit it! Your composite is great! There are any number of explanations for your math score lowering--different material, you've been out of school, etc. The fact that you made a 34 once (it isn't a fluke--I don't see how anyone could view it that way) shows definite compentence in math. Congratulations on the great score, by the way!

Thanks! I feel a lot better about submitting it now.
