Should I skip FAFSA parent financial & asset questions since FAFSA says not required to answer them?

Should I skip FAFSA parent financial & asset questions since FAFSA says not required to answer them ( since on free/reduced lunch program and parent displaced worker) even if I require institutional methodology for private college? I have read that private colleges require the answers to these skipped FAFSA questions but since these private colleges require that I complete the CSS profile- then they will get these answers anyway so I do not think I need to provide answers to these FAFSA questions if FAFSA says OK to skip them - is this correct? Has anyone skipped these FAFSA questions and had any issues with private colleges that require CSS profile too?

Yes you should skip.

Yes, skip. If your income’s low enough to skip assets, you’re likely eligible for pell grant. Answering assets might lower how much pell you get.

From what I have read, answering the questions should have no impact on the Pell Grant. I believe the question is asked because some states require asset information to determine any state aid that is based on the FAFSA. I know in my state, the FAFSA is used for determining institution aid if attending a in-state public. However, they do not seem to require asset information in my state.
