Should I skip FAFSA parent financial & asset questions since FAFSA says not required to answer them?

Once we mark that Parents receive Free/Reduced Price Lunch on FAFSA and Mom is dislocated worker FAFSA asks if we want to SKIP the FAFSA FINANCIAL QUESTIONS? and it asks if we want to SKIP the FAFSA PARENTS ASSET QUESTIONS?
Should we skip these FAFSA financial and asset parent questions or should we answer them even though FAFSA says we arn’t required to answer these questions?
We are worried if we skip them we will be required to answer further questions about this after submit and it will delay everything.

^Yes you should skip the financial questions. Unless you live in one the states:

Google “State Restrictions on Simplified Versions of the FAFSA” or http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/financial-aid-scholarships/1727406-auto-zero-efc-and-assets.html post #1

if yoir state requires these be answered…the info will not be used to determine eligibility for,federally funded Grant money. But your state,could,require this info for,their purposes.

I live in California -so is it ok to skip these financial and asset questions like FAFSA says or will this require delay for verification of this info since I skipped these questions like FAFSA said I could??

You should be fine, I was in the same position a few days ago and got my SAR back within the day, so theoretically there were no issues. That’s the point of having the simplified needs test, isn’t it?

I live in CA as well & skipped them, both last year and this one. Not a problem.

@lilliana330 and you got cal grant last year?

@rgosula Yup
