Should I Start Studying for the SAT Now?

I am a sophomore in high school and am just wondering if you think that I should start studying for the SAT/ACT yet.

Is this too earlier, or is it ok?

By studying early, were you able to get a 1500+ or 35+ on the SAT and ACT?

How do you recommend that I study the SAT/ACT?

When are you planning to take it? A year from now is typically the earliest students take it, so starting now would be pretty early. That risks forgetting what you may study unless you keep up the review for a full year.

Taking an official sample test, to get comfortable with the format, and identifying the areas to focus on, based on the diagnostics, may be a good idea. That let’s you know what/how much you have to tackle and triggers your brain to think about those topics during regular school work.

Specific SAT prep typically starts 4-6 months before your first take, IME.

Starting early or late doesn’t result in a specific score. Some students get 1500+ with zero studying. Others study extensively to get to 1100 (or pick any number). Study/score is not an endless linear relationship.

Thank you for the reply, I plan on taking the SAT around the mid/end of junior and the beginning of senior year.
