Should I start the applications for boarding school now or when school begins?

I want to get a sort of "headstart" on the applications, but I'm unsure if schools have released the application formats for the upcoming year. If someone knows, can they tell me, because I don't want to start an application and then have to potentially throw it away. Thanks!

I did not start the boarding school process until about September. During tue summer I made up my mind about which schools that I wanted to apply to…and that was all I did. I guess you could get a headstart by studying for the SSAT but you don’t eat to start on your essays this early because you never know if there will be an experience that happens in the school year that you want to write about…maybe an award that tube won…or there may be a change in the essay prompts!

Oh! And the applications for the new year come about in about November if I remember correctly…

Thanks for the help I will keep that in mind! : D

Exactly what deerbri said. When I tried to get the candidate profile for the interviews in September, they weren’t updated yet! Just focus on what schools you wish to apply, and have a fun summer!

:D Thanks I will. You too though!

@Berkshirelover,
Most schools don’t have their applications available until September 1. However, this year, a few schools will make their available on August 1. For example, Deerfield will do this next year.

Oh ok, well, because I’m not applying to Deefield, do you think I could start them about now and have no problems?

Seriously? August 1st?! Of course that change would be made the year AFTER I applied to DA! -_-
You may want to start to look into https://gatewaytoprepschools.com/</a> this website (Gateway to Prep schools) to make the application process easier on yourself --but only certain schools participate in it. The website lets you select the schools that you are applying to, and then you complete everything electronically with the option of printing some things off. But like I said, only certain schools (Andover, Hkiss, Deerfield, etc) are a part of it. For the other schools, you may have to mail in applications which means they want handwritten essays (Exeter).
